Square Enix Wins $600k Settlement

Square Enix Holdings announced that it has been awarded a $600,000 judgment in a suit it filed against four wholesalers who were making unauthorized copies of the swords used in the Final Fantasy series of video games.

The companies that agreed to the settlement include Edgework Imports, Top Swords, and Wholesale Gallery. Square Enix says that an additional company called Pacific solutions Marketing has entered into a second agreement.

The companies have agreed to stop selling the swords online at places like eBay, Amazon, and other places. The defendants each issued a statement saying in part that they would never have imported the swords had they known Square Enix would be so aggressive in stopping them.
