Let The Games Begin!

Local gamers will be anxiously looking forward to participate in the upcoming Brunei Cyber Games III that will feature PS3 games for the first time.

The popular competition will be held in the Consumer Fair Part III 2009 from January 8 at the International Convention Centre (ICC).

Co-organised by Ranoadidas.com and Sunlit Advertising, the event will feature Playstation 3 games such as Pro Evo Soccer 2009, Call of Duty 4 and RockBand (four in a band), while the only Playstation 2 competition available is Pro Evo Soccer 2009.

According to a press release by organisers, interested gamers can start registering for the competition from today until January 7 at ETA Gameshop @ Cineplex, The Mall in Gadong, from 1pm to 8pm.

The final registration will be at the ICC on January 8-9.

Anyone who purchases a Pro Evo Soccer 2009 or a Call of Duty 4/5 or RockBand game at ETA Gameshop @ Cineplex during the registration period (January 3-7) will automatically gain a free entry to the Brunei Cyber Games III.

Rano Iskandar of Ranoadidas.com said: "It has been more than six months since the second Brunei Cyber Games. The public is anticipated for the next tournament and this is such a timely schedule together with the third Consumer Fair 2009. I've also introduced new games such as RockBand and COD4 to keep up with the trend."

Fabulous prizes await the winners of the competition. The first prize for Pro Evo Soccer 2009 (PS3 category) will be a Playstation 3 160G console, while the first prize for Pro Evo Soccer 2009 (PS2 category) will be a Playstation 3 80G console. Meanwhile, the first prize for Call of Duty 4 is a B$300 voucher at ETA Gameshop @ Cineplex and the first prize for the RockBand competition is a RockBand 2 set.

The main sponsor for the event is Baiduri Bank. Other major sponsors include Panacom Sdn Bhd (Philips and Samsung), ETA Gameshop @ Cineplex, QQestore.com and Brunei Tourism.

The official radio is Pelangi FM and listeners can win a free entry at BCG III thru Pelangi FM quizzes, as well as B$10 voucher at the third Consumer Fair 2009.
