South Korea offers scholarships for Bruneian students

The government of the Republic of Korea is offering Scholarship Programme for Undergraduate Students to Brunei nationals who are interested in furthering their studies in Korea.

Two Bruneian students are currently studying in Korea since September 2008 under the same scholarship programme.

According to a press release by the Korean embassy, the objective of the scholarship programme is to provide Bruneian students with the opportunity to further their studies at higher educational institutions in Korea. This is in order to promote international exchange in education and mutual friendship between both countries.

The scholarship include exemption of entrance and tuition fees, return air ticket to and from Korea, monthly allowance of 800,000 won, medical insurance, accommodation and repatriation allowances and others.

The scholarship programme consists of a four-year undergraduate degree course after successfully completing a one-year Korean language training at institutes designated by the National Institute for International Education (NIIED).
