A large number of people went to the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation Complex in the capital yesterday to take part in some fun and games, as well as a charity sale.
They were held for the first time by Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) and its subsidiaries in collaboration with the Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Foundation's Volunteer Unit.
BIBD's Acting Managing Director Javed Ahmad officially launched the event.
Also present at the function were BIBD's senior officers, staff and family members.
According to Zalia Zaini, BIBD has just set up its Corporate Social Responsibility Programme Committee and it was the first field activity that they have organised.
She also said that all proceeds from sales would go to NGOs and non-government charitable organisations.
"We will have more activities lined up to help the community, and we will also reach out to help people in need and the underprivileged," she added.
The Chairperson of BIBD's Corporate Social Responsibility Programme Committee is Hjh Nurul Akmar Hj Md Jaafar.
Visitors of the charity event also had an opportunity to witness the Reptilia and Big Bike Shows.
At the event, BIBD's staff members contributed various types of items, which included electrical goods, cloths, food and drinks.
In addition, there were also activities for children, including a colouring contest.
