Samsung releases TL110 & TL105 digital cameras

Samsung, a market leader and award-winning innovator in consumer electronics, today announced the addition of two new models to it ever-popular TL range, the TL110 and TL105. Whether at a party, out with friends or simply wanting to capture great moments around you, the TL110 and TL105 come well equipped for simple, beautiful, on-the-go photography. Super slim, at only 1.6 cm, with improved wide angle lenses and optical zooms, both the TL110 and TL105 are the ultimate solution to make sure no moment is lost.

Samsung’s new TL110 and TL105 feature improved 27mm wide-angle lenses for TL110, 27.5mm wide-angle lenses for TL105 when compared to their predecessor, the TL100. The 14.2 megapixel TL110 has a versatile 5x optical zoom, which is paired with Dual Image Stabilization (IS) to help reduce image blur by combining both Optical and Digital Image stabilizers to produce sharp images. The 12.2 megapixel TL105 offers an expanded 4x optical zoom and features Digital Image Stabilization.

For those on-the-go photographers who fancy creating something more creative, both cameras come with fantastic Fisheye and Lomo functions to create something truly unique at the touch of a button. The TL110 and TL105 also include a long list of photography styles to suit all scenarios, including Normal, Soft, Vivid, Forest, Retro, Cool, Calm, Classic, Negative, Custom RGB and two new options: Sketch and DeFog Clear/Fog Lifting, which cuts through the haze to take clear photos. With the TL110 and TL105 every occasion is catered for.

The innovation in these ultra compact digital cameras doesn’t stop with just great still shots. Both the TL110 and TL105 come equipped with HD video recording to record video at a resolution of 720p / 30fps, using H.264 compression. Additionally, to further simplify users’ ability to record the best video possible, the cameras offer Samsung’s advanced scene recognition technology, Smart Auto (Still & Movie). Smart Auto has been upgraded from the TL100 as it can now be used with video as well as with still images. Similar to the way the technology analyses the composition of an image when capturing digital stills, the technology will do the same for video, automatically choosing between one of four pre-programmed settings and selecting the setting that will yield the best footage with proper exposure and colour balance.

And for those on-the-go photographers that aren’t sure of the optimum setting for their surroundings, both cameras allow users to manually set options including ISO, white balance, metering mode, AF, and exposure compensation. Available scene modes include Beauty Shot, Night, Frame Guide, Portrait, Children, Landscape, Close-up, Text, Sunset, Dawn Backlight, Beach & Snow, Fireworks.

“Consumers want portability from their point and shoot cameras, and we think our ultra-slim TL110 and TL105 address that desire,” states Steve Mitchell, Marketing General Manager, Samsung Digital Imaging. “Both the TL110 and TL105 are feature-packed and ideal for every type of photographer who wants a well-equipped, easy‑to‑use, compact camera.
