LANEIGE Broadway Musical Charity Competition is BACK!


The Laneige Broadway Musical will be back again this year with a more colourful and lively competition set to make its come back more significant, said the co-organiser during a press conference held at STPRI yesterday.

Present at the press conference were officials from the Department of Schools, Acting Senior Special Duties Officer (Secondary) Mr Cheong Huat Joo and Senior Education Officer Hjh Lena Mohd Hassan and Pat Li of Laneige.

Representatives of the main sponsors including HSBC Manager Corporate Sustainability Lim Boon Teck and Managing Director and Principal of Studio Scene Patricia Siva, were also present at the press conference.

Responses from secondary schools have been very encouraging with 20 secondary schools participating in the charity competition performing some famous scenes from popular Broadway musicals like The Lion King, Beauty & the Beast, Aladdin, The Sound of Music, Mama Mia, Oliver, Wicked, Grease, High School Musical and many more.

The objective of the competition is to raise awareness of the public on the less fortunate and through this charity competition, it is hoped to encourage a wide spectrum of youths today on the need to be more caring and compassionate.

The competition is also a way to provide a platform and expose students' talents and creativity and provide the opportunity for students to communicate, perform and develop artistically in the English Language.

The event is supported by the Ministry of Education and the sponsors include HSBC, Brunei Press Sdn Bhd, Jasra Harrison Sdn Bhd, Milo, Royal Brunei Catering Sdn Bhd, Syarikat Shalim (B) Sdn Bhd, Nyuk Lian Printing Company, Ranoadidas, Red Dot Studio, CfBT, Studio Scene and Brunei English Language Teacher Association.

The Laneige Broadway Musical Charity Competition 2011 will be held at the ICC Main Conference Hall this coming November 26 at 1pm.

Tickets are now available at all Laneige branches at The Mall (2428222), Kiulap (2232282) and Kuala Belait (3347217).

All proceeds from the ticket sales will be donated to KACA and Pusat Bahagia.
