Times Square Shopping Centre was yesterday packed with enthusiastic customers who participated in the shopping centre's grand draw where the winner was entitled to a brand new semi-detached bungalow, the first ever to be given as a grand prize in Brunei.
As the event began, participants started to get excited, curious if it would be their lucky day to win a brand new house.
Out of the thousands of participants, 35-year-old Muhd Hamdanajib Hj Domeng from Kg Lambak proved to be the luckiest of them all when the number that he picked won him the brand new semi-detached bungalow.
The guest of honour at the grand draw was Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Development, Awg Hj Mohd Rozan Dato Paduka Hj Yunus, who also picked the 10 lucky winners of the grand draw.
These 10 lucky winners were then called to the stage to select a number pasted on 10 boxes displayed on the table to determine what they have won.
Manager of Times Square Property Management, Amal Majidah, in her welcoming address said Times Square Shopping Centre has always tried to conform to its motto of 'a place for everyone' and thus, the lucky draw campaign was open to everyone regardless of age, gender, race and nationality.
She further noted that the beauty of the lucky draw campaign that aimed to encourage Bruneians to shop locally is that a participant can win as many times as he/ she wants during the daily, weekend and celebration draw, where if lucky enough, a participant may even win the grand draw.
"I believe this lucky draw is one of its kind as we gave away not one, not two but 10 prizes everyday from October 10, 2010 until April 3, 2011 with the daily prizes ranging from $20 such as handbags, kitchen utensils, soft toys to the more exciting weekend draw and the celebration draw where we gave away electrical appliances, phones, iPod Nanos and two-day one-night Empire vouchers courtesy of Baiduri Bank."
Also present at the grand draw yesterday was the Chairman of Times Square property management, Mr Tan Kah Boon, as well as other board of directors of Times Square and invited guests.
