Kingdom Hearts Debuts On PSP September 7, With New PSP Bundle

The long-running RPG series that mixes Final Fantasy with fantastical Disney characters and themes, will finally be coming to PSP, in a big way.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep is the ultimate prequel to the Kingdom Hearts series. It will finally set the stage for everything that began with the original Kingdom Hearts and what led up to the story that gamers have been following for nearly a decade.

Birth By Sleep came out in Japan last year and those in the US have been waiting anxiously for the game to come out here.

"We hate to keep fans waiting, but we've added some brand-new features for the North American version, so even those who have been following the Japanese version are sure to find a few surprises. In addition, we've put together an outstanding voice cast. We can't wait for everyone to experience this game," wrote Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura in a statement.

Additionally, to celebrate the big release of the game in North America, Sony teamed with Square Enix to create a brand new PSP system bundle. As has become common with major PSP releases, the new "Entertainment Pack" bundle will include the Birth By Sleep game disc, a 4 GB Memory Stick Pro Duo, a free movie (to be announced), and a "Mystic Silver" colored PSP-3000 handheld.

The bundle will come out day-and-date with the game's release for around $200.
