Liverpool FC line up tour to Asia

Liverpool will play two pre-season friendlies in south-east Asia this summer. Rafael Benitez's side will face Thailand in Bangkok on July 22 before flying to Singapore to take on the national team on July 26. It will be the first time the Reds have visited Thailand since 2003, while they have not played in Singapore for eight years.

"We have a fantastic group of fans in both Thailand and Singapore and it will be great to take the lads out there again," said Benitez.

Ian Ayre, Liverpool's commercial director, added: "South-east Asia is clearly a key region for Liverpool.

"As we continue to develop our international plans, being able to allow fans all over the world to see the team live is paramount."

Dato Worawi Makudi, president of the Thai Football Association, said they were eagerly anticipating the match.

"Liverpool's return to the kingdom is long overdue," he said.

"The experience that our players will receive from this game will help in the development of Thai football."

Winston Lee, general secretary of the Football Association of Singapore, was also pleased to welcome back the Reds.

He said: "Inviting teams such as Liverpool, as well as Brazil and Australia last year, is part of our continued efforts to bring top-class football action to our shores.

"It will not only be a great experience for our fans but our players will get exposure to world-class teams and players."

Porsche Panamera Take Elevator Ride 94 Stories

I'm not sure what would be more perplexing when the door for an elevator going to the 94th story of the Shanghai World Financial Center opens -- seeing an ax wielding murderer step out or a Porsche Panamera sitting upright. Porsche decided to hold a press conference for the car 1,394 feet up on the 94th floor of the venue.

The building owners no doubt looked at them oddly when they first said what the plan was. To get the large Porsche up the elevator required some specialized ramps, bravery, and a really strong cargo elevator.

The car was winched into the elevator in a nose up position and hauled up the building to its final destination considered the world's tallest event platform. The long green ropes coming from the platform the car is on were for the hoards of workers to pull the beast around inside the building.

New Moon to rise as planned

Twilight fans can breathe a sigh of relief after studio executives confirmed the upcoming sequel New Moon will not be affected by an ongoing lawsuit against author Stephenie Meyer.

The writer, who penned the books on which the films are based, is facing legal action from her former college roommate, who alleges Meyer based the novels on a short story she wrote as a student.

The lawsuit was reported to have had severe implications for the film franchise - which stars Robert Pattinson - with internet gossips speculating that the shooting of New Moon in Canada had been halted.

But a spokesperson from Summit Entertainment, the company behind the movie, insists New Moon remains on schedule for a 20 November release.

The rep tells MSNBC.com, “Production is underway, in Vancouver, totally as planned. There is no delay. Whatever you’re hearing about a lawsuit interfering with the film (and) its release, all I can say is it’s totally false.”

Heading Toward My Ride

New Moon 'halted over lawsuit'

Twilight sequel New Moon has been thrown into jeopardy - author Stephenie Meyer is facing a plagiarism lawsuit over the vampire franchise, according to reports.

The original 2008 movie - starring Robert Pattinson - was a major international hit and has spawned a follow-up which is currently being shot in Canada. The film franchise is based on the popular book series, written by Meyer.

But production on the second film has reportedly been halted following claims Meyer is facing legal action from her former college roommate, who is said to have accused the writer of basing the books on her ideas.

According to I'mnotobsessed.com, Heidi Stanton - who studied alongside Meyer at Brigham Young University, Utah - claims the vampire books are similar to a short story she wrote when she was a student there.

Stanton filed her lawsuit against Meyer in Utah last Tuesday, alleging idea infringement.

She states in the papers, "Quite frankly, I was shocked when I began watching the movie with my husband last week. I immediately told him that she got that idea from me! I wrote a fictional short story with the same ideas when we were in college together."

Meyer claims the premise for the popular series came to her in a dream in 2003 and she completed the first novel three months later.

And the legal battle has reportedly cast doubt on the highly-anticipated New Moon, with production being "put on hold" until the case is resolved, according to the website.

New Moon is scheduled for release at the end of the year.
