Canon PowerShot G10 review at DPReview

DPReview have posted their review of the Canon PowerShot G10. Quotes from the review, "The G10 is a camera you don't want to put down once you have picked it up. It encourages users to take pictures, and turn the dials: to experiment and have fun. This is one heck of a fun camera to use. In the hand, it inspires confidence with solid construction and secure and comfortable hand grip. The G10 quickly becomes second nature to use, which is not something that can be said of many compacts."

Final Fantasy XIII demo coming soon

Famitsu reports that the upcoming Final Fantasy XIII demo will have length of more than 2 hours. Please note that this number is longer than the bundled Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete movie (101 minutes+). The bundle will be released in March 2009.

Here are some other information revealed in Famitsu:
  • Final Fantasy XIII demo will be based from the opening part of the game.
  • The demo will come on a separate disc rather than on the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete Blu-ray.
  • Mr. 33CM’s (The guy who rides the motorbike) real name is based off of weather as well.
  • One of the female characters, referred to as ‘Pigtails Girl’ (The cute looking girl in the trailer, you know?), has been through some tough times.

In other news, what’s likely a preview of things to come, a new advertising campaign from Sony over in Japan features what appears to be the beginnings of a promotional push for Final Fantasy XIII.

A major train station in Tokyo’s Shibuya Ward features a series of posters promoting the PlayStation 3. The posters features characters like Sackboy, Solid Snake, the giant white knight from White Knight Chronicles, and, most notably, Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII.

Text in front of the FFXIII heroine says “The Courage to Pursue the Truth.”

While not strictly a Final Fantasy XIII ad, this is the first time we’ve seen Sony use FFXIII to promote the PS3 over in Japan. Expect a lot more of that next year as the game’s March demo approaches.

The ads also feature real people presumably showing off how cool it is to have a PS3.

Summit Greenlights Twilight Sequel - New Moon

Summit Entertainment announced today that the studio is officially moving forward with the production of New Moon, the second installment of its filmed franchise "Twilight," the action-packed, modern day vampire love story. The movie will be based on the second novel in author Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight" series titled, "New Moon." The first movie in the "Twilight" franchise, the self-titled Twilight, arrived in theaters this weekend to sold-out showings.

Stephenie Meyer stated, "I don't think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment. I'm thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on 'New Moon.'"

Starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, Twilight tells the story of 17-year-old Bella Swan who moves to the small town of Forks, Washington to live with her father, and becomes drawn to Edward Cullen, a pale, mysterious classmate who seems determined to push her away. But neither can deny the attraction that pulls them together... even when Edward confides that he and his family are vampires. Their unorthodox romance puts her in physical danger when Edward's nemesis comes to town and sets his sights on Bella.

Another new gear added...

Tadaa...

In case you're wondering why I bought a 28mm instead of a 50mm, well, as of now, I'm not into portrait photography (yet) and furthermore 28mm on a 1.6 crop sensor is equivalent to around 45mm on a full frame.

Anyway, here is a photo taken outside Dewan Muhibbah.

While this one is inside Dewan Muhibbah.

While this is taken outside Coffeezone Centrepoint. For those who know Coffeezone Centrepoint, you do know how dark it is there. This is taken using 1600 ISO, 1/20, RAW and NR was applied using DPP.
