His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, the Deputy Sultan consented to launch the Quality Living Showcase in conjunction with the 19th Civil Service Day at the International Convention Centre yesterday.
A total of 56 booths comprising government agencies, private sector, financial institutions, construction companies including suppliers and consultant are participating in the five-day event which began yesterday and will run until October 21.
This year, the showcase carries the theme "Civil Service upholding the Construction Industry" or "Perkhidmatan Awam Mendukung Industri Binaan" with exhibitors emphasising on how this emerging industry contributes towards everyday life for the citizens of Brunei Darussalam.
The showcase also displays the development of human resources, which contributes to generating a more economically competitive climate.
Apart from showcasing the contributions made towards the industry's advancement and increasing competitiveness, the Quality Living Showcase was held to display the Ministry of Development (MoD)'s efforts towards realising Vision 2035.
Organisers hoped that the exhibition will also attract the attention of students and job seekers to embark on a career within the construction industry. Additionally, the exhibition will also feature laws and regulations with regard to industrial processes.
According to the organisers the showcase is a one-stop event "for all home needs", which includes real estate, building materials, home furnishing, home appliances, bank and insurance, furniture, kitchen, interior design and many more.
Among the prominent companies participating in the exhibition include Colourland, Baiduri Bank, HSBC, BIBD, Standard Chartered Bank, Brunei Press Sdn Bhd, Insurans Islam TAIB, Takaful Brunei Darussalam, TAIB, PNK Enterprise, TYL System, Jackhan Furniture, Intracorp, Mode Kitchen and many more.
The Quality Living Showcase is organised by the Ministry of Development with the expertise of S-Team Solution as its event manager.
It is open to the public from 9am to 9pm daily.
Following the Civil Service Day exhibition, the MoD is expected to host a Customer Day exhibition at the end of the month.
