THE Business Project Carnival held at the Business School in Gadong ended on a high note yesterday as crowds continued to arrive mere hours before the closing of the two-day event.

One of the main highlights included a special appearance by 30 Bruneians dressed in costumes depicting various characters from anime, video games and movies.

Known as 'cosplayers', the group, lead by its member codenamed "Jdee", were invited by Pg Walli Pg Hj Alli, the event's public relations officer, to enliven and add entertainment value to the carnival.

"It helped attract more people to come to our event, because the public usually like to take pictures with these cosplayers. They are often fascinated by the costumes," said Pg Walli in an interview with The Brunei Times.

Q: Assalamualaikum PDI. Mohon terangkan apa hukum berpacar ( berinai) seperti lazimnya jika ada majlis perkahwinan?

A: Wa'alaikumsalam...

Sebelum kedatangan Islam, berinai atau 'bapacar' sebenarnya sudah pun wujud. Orang sudah tahu 'bapacar' atu sebagai salah satu cara untuk berhias. Tidak terkecuali juga bagi masyarakat Melayu, durang menggunakan 'pacar' sebagai salah satu cara berhias. Dan termasuk menjadikannya sebagai salah satu acara di dlm adat perkahwinan orang Melayu, samada bagi pengantin lelaki ataupun pengantin perempuan. Walaubagaimanapun ia tdk lah bertentangan dgn hukum agama Islam selagimana kitani ndamempercayai sesuatu darinya dan tdk membawa kpd syirik maka ia tdk lah mengapa kerana ia hanya merupakan suatu adat bagi perkahwinan orang kitani.

Bagi perempuan, hukum berinai atau 'bapacar' itu adakalanya sunat, adakalanya makruh, dan bahkan adakalanya haram. Perbezaan hukum ini nampak apabila dirujuk kepada keadaan serta status perempuan itu sama ada bersuami atau tdk. Selain itu, berbalik jua kepada tujuan tani berinai atau bapacar atu.

Bagaimana pula bagi lelaki, terutama bagi mereka yang menjadi 'raja sehari'? Apakah hukum 'bapacar' bagi pengantin lelaki?

Adapun berinai atau 'bapacar' dengan daun inai atau sebagainya, pada dua tangan dan kaki, bagi kaum lelaki hukumnya adalah haram. Di antara dalil yang mengharamkan lelaki berinai atau 'bapacar' ialah hadits sahih yg diriwayatkan oleh Imam Bukhari dan Imam Muslim.

"Daripada Anas dia berkata: "Bahawa Nabi Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam melarang kaum lelaki memakai za'faran (kuma-kuma).

(Hadis riwayat Bukhari dan Muslim)

Za'faran (kuma-kuma) adalah sejenis daun tumbuh-tumbuhan yg mengeluarkan warna serta berbau harum.

Dilarang memakai za'faran (kuma-kuma) bagi lelaki adalah kerana warnanya bukan baunya, kerana memakai benda yg harum bagi lelaki adalah disunatkan. Daun inai itu sama seperti za'faran dari segi mengeluarkan warna dan bau.

Tambahan lagi, perbuatan berinai pada tangan dan kaki itu di dalamnya unsur2 menyerupai atau meniru2 cara kaum wanita berhias. Haram hukumnya perbuatan meniru2 atau menyerupai antara lelaki dan perempuan sebagaimana ditegaskan di dalam sebuah hadits sahih:

Daripada Ibnu 'Abbas Radhiallahu Anhuma beliau berkata: "Bahawa Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam melaknat kaum lelaki yg menyerupai atau meniru2 kaum wanita dan kaum wanita yang menyerupai atau meniru-niru kaum lelaki. (Hadis riwayat Bukhari).

Bagaimanapun jika sekiranya lelaki itu berinai atau 'bapacar' kerana ada keuzuran iaitu keperluan atau hajat untuk berubat, tidaklah diharamkan malahan tidaklah dimakruhkan ke atasnya utk berinai.

Tersebut di dlm hadits yg diriwayatkan oleh Imam Abu Daud:

Daripada Salma khadam Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam dia berkata: "Tidak mengadu kepada Baginda Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam seseorang tentang sakit di kepala melainkan Baginda menyuruh orang itu supaya berbekam, dan tidak mengadu kepadanya seseorang tentang sakit di kakinya (pecah kulit) melainkan Baginda menyuruhnya supaya berinai. (Hadis riwayat Abu Daud).

Merujuk kepada apa yg berlaku sekarang ani di tengah masyarakat tani, perbuatan berinai atau 'bapacar' bagi lelaki masih wujud walaupun ada di antaranya telah mengetahui tentang hukumnya, khasnya kepada pengantin lelaki pada majlis malam 'bapacar'. Berinai atau 'bapacar' bagi pengantin lelaki hukumnya tetap dilarang. Pengecualian daripada hukum tersebut hanya terbatas kepada keadaan jika ada keuzuran sahaja, iaitu bagi tujuan berubat, sebagaimana disebutkan diatas.

Secara umumnya berinai atau 'bapacar' bagi pengantin lelaki pada tangan dan kaki hanya merupakan adat semata-mata, tidak ada disyariatkan di dalam Islam.

Adapun hukum berpacar berbentuk ukiran tanpa tujuan malah menyerupai seperti kaum lain juga adalah dilarang, sebagaimana Baginda Rasulullah pernah bersabda:

من تشبه بقوم فهو منهم

“Sesiapa yang menyerupai sesuatu kaum maka dia termasuk dalam kaum tersebut.” (Riwayat Abu Daud).

Berinai yang sunat:

Berinai ketika hendak melakukan ihram bagi perempuan sama ada perempuan tua atau yang muda, yang bersuami atau yang tidak bersuami (janda atau belum berkahwin) hukumnya adalah sunat. Begitu juga sunat bagi perempuan yang bersuami berinai walaupun dia tidak bermaksud untuk berihram.

Berinai yang makruh:

Berinai bagi perempuan yang tidak bersuami dan ia tidak bermaksud untuk berihram hukumnya adalah makruh.

Berinai yang haram:

Berinai dengan cara yg tidak dibenarkan oleh syarak, seperti berinai dengan warna hitam hukumnya adalah haram. Begitu juga haram berinai bagi perempuan yang berkabung kerana kematian suami.

Manakala berinai dengan membuat ukiran di tangan adalah seperti berikut:

Berinai yang disunatkan bagi perempuan yang bersuami yang ingin melakukan ihram atau tidak dan perempuan yang tidak bersuami yang ingin melakukan ihram ialah dengan cara menginai seluruh tangan hingga pergelangannya dan disunatkan juga menyapu sedikit inai pada mukanya.

Adapun berinai dengan membuat ukiran di tangan pula, Imam Ibnu Hajar al-Haitami Rahimahullah ada menyebutkan perkara ini di dalam kitabnya, Tuhfah al-Muhtaj ‘ala Syarh al-Minhaj, katanya:

“Dan tidak disunatkan baginya (perempuan yang bersuami yang tidak melakukan ihram) berinai dengan membuat ukiran, berinai dengan warna hitam, berinai di hujung-hujung jari dan berinai dengan memerahkan pipi, bahkan haram melakukan salah satu daripada cara sedemikian bagi perempuan yang tidak bersuami dan bagi isteri yang tidak mendapat keizinan suaminya.”

Berdasarkan petikan di atas, jelas bahawa hukum berinai dengan membuat ukiran bukanlah cara yang disunatkan, bahkan perbuatan itu haram dilakukan bagi perempuan yang tidak bersuami dan juga bagi perempuan yang sudah berkahwin yang tidak mendapat keizinan suaminya. Namun jika suami mengizinkannya, makruh jika isteri melakukan yang sedemikian itu.

Selain daripada membuat ukiran, berinai dengan warna hitam, berinai di hujung-hujung jari dan berinai dengan memerahkan pipi juga merupakan cara berinai yang tidak dibenarkan oleh syarak. Walau bagaimanapun menurut Ibnu Rif‘ah Rahimahullah, apa yang dimaksudkan dengan berinai di hujung2 jari yang diharamkan itu adalah menginai hujung2 jari dgn inai yg berwarna merah dan dicampur dengan yang berwarna hitam. Jika menginainya hanya dengan inai yang berwarna merah, maka yang sedemikian adalah dibolehkan. Begitu juga dibolehkan ukiran yang dibuat dengan inai (warna merah) sahaja menurut Ibn Qasim al- ‘Abbadi Rahimahullah.

Jadi kesimpulan nya disini ialah kita lihat apakah tujuan nya memakai atau menggunakan nya. Jika ia bertujuan semata2 utk saja2 iaitu tanpa tujuan maka hukumnya adalah haram.

OK... first of all, sorry for the lack of updates on my blog, I kinda lost my "passion" for taking photos lately and there were not much event happening lately... so yeah... but for 2012, I'll try to give this blog a little bit of some "personal" touch in it... I mean, I'll try to talk more, give more opinion rather than just posts of pictures in it... and let me emphasize it, "I'LL TRY!" eheh...

Anyway, on 11th January 2012, a friend of mine celebrate her 18th birthday (congrats! you're safe from pedobear now! xp), she spent her time having dinner with her family... but things didn't really go her way, and went a bit (a bit? xp) emo-ing... it was at 10pm+ when she posted her feeling at her FB, and by that time, all the bakery have already closed... so I just end up buying a slice of cake from CoffeeZone and gave it to her... good enough I guess... huhuhu... my initial plan was to send the cake to her front door... unfortunately, she was already at the door when I arrive at her place... and to make things worst, I got candle but I don't have any lighter to light up the candle... orz phail much... hahaha... so I just end up giving her the cake just like that...

12th Jan 2012... we decided to hang out at the Burrow... initially we were planning to celebrate Nio's birthday at Pastamania (owh... btw... only me & Cherry know about the celebration... teehee... sorry for not informing to the rest about it... teehee...), unfortunately, some were unable to come, so we switch the Pastamania celebration on Friday instead...

no Pastamania? doesn't matter... had Tasconi instead! teehee

Nio couldn't stand watching the rest still eating the pizza after she felt full after eating just TWO SLICES ONLY! JUST 2 SLICES??? I'm so disappointed... huhuhu... xp

And without her knowledge, I prepared another slice of cake for her... reason? So that she won't expect another cake will be coming when we're gonna have our dinner at Pastamania... teehee...

awww... look at her suprised face... huhuhu... mission accomplished! XD

owh... the cake is Chocolate Indulgence from Secret Recipe...

awww... look at her face again... so touched... teehee...

Abu came late... so he missed singing the birthday song to Nio... doesn't matter, he still get to eat some of the pizza... eheh... never knew 4 boxes can be sooo much... huhuhu...

and with the help of 3 or 4 ppl, she managed to finish off the puzzle! look loose? doesn't matter, got final picture! xp

and after completing the puzzle, she then proceed eating her cake... which unfortunately she didn't manage to finish it off... i'm disappointed in you again... huhuhu... just kidding... xp

13th Jan 2012... initially, we meet up at the Burrow in the afternoon coz we're gonna do some material hunting for our future cosplay project... took almost the whole afternoon and getting little success only... huhuhu... why materials are so hard to find here in Brunei???

Arrive at Pastamania at around 7.30pm... me, Nio & Rexen were the first one to arrive... owh, incase you are wondering why I choose Pastamania is because I won Pastamania vouchers worth $140 which I get after I won 2nd place during the Pastamania Dress Up Competition... so other than me & Cherry, the others only thought that tonight celebration is just for my 2nd place winning... teehee...

and she was like "stop taking pictures of me!" xp

and suddenly... a Rilakkuma appeared!

and we went "NUUUUUU!!!" when she cut the cake... teehee... she had a hard time wanting to cut the cake coz she don't want to "murder" Rilakkuma... huhuhu...

and finally, back to the Burrow...

the "scary" moment when they were watching some "freaky" cosplay photo when that cosplayer photoshopped to the extreme til the guy lost most of his human facial & body features...

and the night end with her having a Guitar Hero challenge against Najib...

Consumer Fair Part 9 was officially launched today... and for the first time, CF will be held in 5 days, which run from today till this Sunday... which to me is kinda surprising coz looking at the schedule, all 5 days have the same activities, no difference at all, so it feel kinda wasted to me... and another thing is I find the number of participating vendors were not as many as previous CF... something to do with the extended day maybe?

Anyway... i didn't take many photos as most of the booth just the same as previous CF or I didn't find anything interesting... eheh... so just enjoy with what I managed to take today...

they have UNI Arcade now... but too bad they couldn't bring some K-box here... pretty sure lots of people would want that to be there too...

and at one of the electronic booth, they were showing Girls Generation video clip... and i end up watching the whole clip... in HD! huhuhu...

As for the Pastamania Dress Up Competition, participants were encouraged to dress up as their favourite characters. The top three winners will then be decided through voting by the fans. Many members of the Brunei Cosplayer group were also spotted participating in the event.

Shukree J's costume, the Master Chief from 'Halo', drew the most attentions and votes, resulting in him winning the first prize of $180 voucher plus B$100 cash. Meanwhile, Md Khairi Waddin bin Hj Domeng's character was as creative, as he cosplayed as one of the most popular comic villain of all time, The Joker, which won him the second prize of $140 voucher plus B$80 cash.

The third prize of $80 voucher and B$50 cash on the other hand, was claimed by a little girl dressed in traditional Indian attire.

Nikon announces SB-910 high-end Speedlight

Today, Nikon Inc. announced the addition of a new flagship speedlight, the powerful and capable SB-910 speedlight. Building on the versatility of Nikon’s Creative Lighting System (CLS), the SB-910 incorporates an enhanced intuitive operating system and graphic user interface (GUI). The SB-910 speedlight comes equipped with a wide zoom range covering the most popular focal lengths as well as FX/DX-format identification that optimizes zoom settings based on the camera body. This new speedlight also provides more efficient battery usage as well as an enhanced Thermal Cut-Out function.

“As Nikon’s new flagship speedlight, the SB-910 provides exceptional high performance and versatility that users have come to value in Nikon’s Creative Lighting System,” said Lisa Osorio, general manager of marketing at Nikon Inc. “By addressing the needs of photographers that work in challenging lighting scenarios, the SB-910 delivers a new level of portable lighting functionality, with performance and intelligent features that adapt to a wide range of lighting challenges.”

The SB-910 speedlight is designed to provide easy operation and menu navigation, with its enhanced operating system featuring illuminated function buttons, a dedicated Menu button with quick access to custom settings and an improved LCD screen graphic user interface. Whether the unit is used as an on-camera flash, wireless commander or remote, the SB-910 speedlight will provide dependable and consistent flash exposure. Engineered to address the creative lighting challenges faced by today’s photographers, the SB-910 speedlight includes quick on-demand performance and the ability to adapt seamlessly to nearly any possible lighting scenario.

Additionally, the new SB-910 incorporates a new Thermal Cut-Out function, which offers protection against damage to the flash panel and body from overheating during continuous flash use. Now, the flash recycling time is automatically delayed if a significant rise in temperature is detected, rather than ceasing operation to protect the unit. For additional durability, heat-resistance and ease-of-use, the SB-910 uses new hard-type color compensation filters for fluorescent and incandescent color temperature balancing. When using these filters, the flash automatically recognizes which filter is being used and adjusts white balance accordingly on the connected Nikon D-SLR camera. Additionally, the AF-assist illuminator of the SB-910 is compatible with the complete line of AF systems used in Nikon D-SLR cameras.

The SB-910 speedlight features three illumination patterns (standard, center-weighted and even) which are designed to match almost any shooting situation when utilizing the speedlight. The “standard” pattern will cover all conventional, standard flash coverage. The “center-weighted” pattern provides larger guide numbers than other light distribution types at the same focal lengths. This illumination pattern is ideal for subjects such as portraits, in which the light falloff at the image edges can be disregarded. When “even” is selected, the light from the flash will cover a subject from the center to the edges without light falloff. This pattern is applicable for shooting group photographs indoors. For coverage with a variety of lenses, the SB-910 speedlight incorporates a multi-step power zoom range that covers a wide 17-200mm angle of view, and can automatically detect Nikon FX and Nikon DX formats to help select suitable light distribution.

The SB-910 speedlight includes support for Nikon’s advanced wireless TTL operation and can function as a wireless commander with control over three separate groups of speedlights or as a remote speedlight triggered by other SB-910 speedlights, SB-700 speedlights, SU-800 Wireless Commander or the built-in speedlight set to Commander Mode on compatible Nikon D-SLR cameras. The SB-910 incorporates a high-speed recycling time of approximately 2.5 seconds for full power with NiMH batteries, and approximately 3.0 seconds with AA Alkaline batteries.

Optional water guards will be available for select cameras to protect the connection between the flash and camera, allowing users to utilize the flash when weather conditions are less than ideal. The SJ-4 Color Filter set provides a Warming, Red, Yellow or Blue filter for adding color to the background, foreground or just to accent the scene. The SB-910 will come equipped with the AS-21 Speedlight Stand, SW-13H Diffusion Dome, SZ-2FL and SZ-2TN hard type Color Compensation Filters and SS-910 soft case.
